The Adventures of Bob

Here in my neck of the woods, we've been preoccupied with snow--lots of snow. Last weekend, we endured what locals nicknamed the "Snowpocolypse:" two feet of snow. Yesterday and today was "Snoverkill," another genuine snow storm complete with blizzard warnings and another foot or so of snow. To chronicle the events, my son put together the above measuring stick (the materials of which were graciously provided by a good friend and neighbor) and my daughter named it "Bob." We put Bob on a patio table on our back deck where we could see him from the door. Only a little over 12 inches tall, Bob still somehow maintained his happy composure no matter what the weather or how much snow came his way, heh. Anyway, here are some snapshots of his adventure during the first storm:

And here is Bob when we excavated him after the storm:

And, for good measure, here is a snapshot of Bob during today's blizzard. He lost an arm during one of the 40-50 mph gusts, poor guy.

Word is there will be more snow coming our way over the holiday weekend. If so, Bob will be there.
