This last day of 2008 is certainly a windy one in these parts. We are experiencing maintained winds between 30 and 40 mph, with gusts into the 50 mph range. Since rising this morning, we've seen trees go down in the woods behind our house and branches on the ground everywhere (the above photo is our next door neighbor's yard). When the wind goes through the trees the roaring literally sounds like an airplane. Amazing. Almost creepy. Anyway, it is also cold. The temps are in the 40s but it feels like the upper 20s or low 30s. When I came inside from taking a few pictures, my hands were so cold that the air in the refrigerator actually warmed them up. Seriously.
So Paul took his stand in the open space at the Areopagus and laid it out for them: "I'm here to introduce you to this God.... He doesn't play hide-and-seek with us. He's not remote; he's near. We live and move in him, can't get away from him!" ~Acts 17
