Happy Thanksgiving

On this Thanksgiving Day I am thankful for many things, including a neighbor who has become a friend.

My kids made the above turkeys one day last week with her two kids. She and I try to get together one late afternoon every week, sip on wine, nibble on cheese and talk for hours while our kids play, do crafts or otherwise entertain each other. We also text each other during emergency room visits, watch out for each other's kids, and take care of each other's pets and plants when we're out of town. She's clued me in on everything from the best pool in the area to the best pediatrician. If I need help, I know she'll be there. And I'll be there for her, too.

By the way, the turkeys were her idea, and my kids loved it. So did I.
