Food for thought: On a mission

From Scot McKnight's A Community Called Atonement:
The One who is sent, Jesus, is the One who sends the Spirit and also sends the disciples into the world. To be missional means to be caught up in the Son's and Spirit's work of being "sent" into this world, and that work emerges from the missional Father. The church is not a place to which people go, but a spiritual body that is on a mission to draw, as did Jesus, others into the One who sent him ([John] 6:44).
