Another trip to the Spice planet?!

ComingSoon reports today that Peter Berg (The Kingdom, Friday Night Lights) is confirmed for a remake of the sci-fi classic Dune. The Hugo and Nebula award winning novel--one of my favorites--has been adapted both into a 1984 film and a 2000 miniseries. Apparently the rumor of another version hitting the big screen has been around a couple of months, but I missed it. I don't know whether to be nervous or excited, heh. The first film is a cult classic but not the best in my book. I really liked the Sci-Fi Channel miniseries, but it had six hours to tell the story.

Why follow this film on a God-talk blog? The novel is full of religious, social and political themes and stories like are bound to generate God-talk.
