Of upcoming battlestars and cylons

Battlestar Galactica is one of the shows this blog watches regularly, and I'm gearing up the TiVo for “Maelstrom”—probably the most-anticipated episode of the season—which airs this Sunday (March 4). Speculation is out there for those who don’t mind being spoiled. So, what’s the big deal about this Starbuck-centric episode? Warning: there’s a major possible spoiler ahead (highlight to read): Folks in the know suspect Starbuck “dies” and turns out to be a Cylon.

Is it true?! If it is, it has a lot of potential to develop some of the on-going themes of this series: Are we really as different from each other as we think? What makes us who we are? And is there something (or Someone) beyond us that plays a hand in our lives? With the lack of confirmed scuttlebutt, though, it looks like you’ll have to tune in to find out.

By the way, the Sci-Fi series has been renewed for a fourth season with 13 episodes (possibly 22—which actually may not be a good thing, ack).
