Billboards I wish I could see

The other day, I ran across a bright purple-backgrounded billboard with black letters boldly proclaiming: "Jesus is coming. Are you going?" But I wish I could see billboards like these:
Why do we focus so much, as Dallas Willard says, on getting people into heaven instead of heaven into people?

These were made at BigHugeLabs, where you can also make your own billboards. The photo (one of my favorites) is called simply "Uplight" and was taken by Apenas imagens - MarĂlia Almeida at flickr.

Well, the billboards may be aimed at the unsaved. :)

I'd prefer to see one that says:
"Jesus is Alive. Are you?"

or

"Jesus is talking. Are you listening?"

A whole sequenced campaign would be nice. :)

Why, indeed?!

In Christ alone,

kari, good to hear from you again! and mir, that's pretty much my point, the billboard being aimed at the unsaved. our efforts towards the "missing" (as jim henderson phrases it) focus so much on gettting people into heaven that it often reduces Jesus to a "get-out-of-jail-card-free" card instead of the kingdom-here-and-now life, which is what the majority of the NT is focused on. God's gift and longing to bring us into eternal life in and with him begins here-and-now, not in heaven. Once we turn to him, we drink deep of life. an idea, i think, that really comes across in one of your billboard ideas (which i REALLY like, btw; you are SO creative): "Jesus is alive. Are you?"

as always a pleasure to have both of you drop by my humble abode! blessings,
carmen

Word. I had a self described Buddhist ask me why if "the kingdom of God is within" don't any of the Christians he knows act like it.

All I could say was, "Good question."
