TD One!

Well, folks, Tropical Depression One is predicted to become the first tropical storm of the season—which would eventually give it the name Alberto. It isn’t expected to get winds over 50kts, which means it could be a great rain-maker for Florida (which desperately needs the rain) without become a hurricane (winds must reach 64kts—or 74mph—to become a Category One hurricane). In its current predicted path, it could also provide some much needed rain to our area as well (we are in drought conditions). It’s scheduled to hit the Florida coast in about 72 hours, but of course this all could change this early on in the prediction cycle. (For more about why hurricanes are on a God-talk blog, see here.)
