Christianity Today posted its 2006 Book Awards last week. On the list are “22 titles that bring understanding to people, events, and ideas that shape evangelical life, thought, and mission.” The categories range from apologetics and evangelism to fiction. Of note (at least to me) is that there are several writers that are either directly associated with the emerging church dialogue or at least often cited by those in the dialogue. What made it to my reading list? Heh, how does one chose?! Ack. I’m leaning towards picking up Sider’s The Scandal of the Evanglical Conscience or Peterson’s Christ Plays in the Ten Thousand Places. Hmm. Or maybe . . .
So Paul took his stand in the open space at the Areopagus and laid it out for them: "I'm here to introduce you to this God.... He doesn't play hide-and-seek with us. He's not remote; he's near. We live and move in him, can't get away from him!" ~Acts 17
