A Twitter & Facebook timeline and photos from Hurricane Sandy

I love storms, but being up close and personal with Hurricane Sandy was a little stressful. We weathered Hurricane Ivan in Alabama (lost power and endured strong tropical force winds for several hours) and Hurricane Irene in Virginia (almost a non-event for us), but Sandy was the most intense I've been through. The winds were unbelievable--sustained tropical force winds with hurricane force gusts for 12 hours or so. Amazingly, we did not lose power, though our neighbors did when their oak tree uprooted and fell on their lines--and Sandy was only a category one. Crazy. Anyway, here is a selection from my Facebook and Twitter posts leading up to, during and after the storm...

The tree that fell in our neighbor's yard ...

Another shot of that tree...

A tree that snapped a few streets away....

Neighborhood streets peppered with leaves...
