Coen brothers 'True Grit' trailer

Above is the trailer for the Coen brothers' version of True Grit, a film this blogger is highly anticipating. According to the Coens, the film isn't so much a remake of the classic John Wayne film (a favorite of this blogger) as a new take on the 1968 novel (also a favorite of this blogger)--and the trailer above is as chock-full of biblical language and allusion as the novel. For what it's worth, the novel runs in a darker vein than the Wayne film, and after seeing the trailer above, I'm fairly certain the Coens' film will be closer to the novel's tone than the Wayne version. And if I'm not mistaken, the railroad station scene in the trailer suggests this film also runs closer to the novel's ending than the Wayne version (which, in my humble opinion, ends on a more hopeful note than the novel).
