Veggie burger wisdom

There are no unimportant ingredients. If it's in here, then it's got a role to play.

--from the side of a box of Gardenburger Portabella Veggie Burgers

For lunch today, I made Vietnamese hot and sour shrimp soup, warmed up a veggie burger and washed it all down with some hot green tea. As I was putting the box of veggie burgers back in the freezer, I noticed the above quote on the side of the box. And I couldn't help but think it has something to say about the people of God, this body we call "the church"--one that reflects more of a membership than association, one that reflects (as Dallas Willard puts it in The Divine Conspiracy) that we are each "built to count, as water is made to run downhill. We are placed in a specific context to count in ways no one else does."

All that from a veggie burger box. Heh.
