Food for thought: What satisfies

This quote attributed to A.W.Tozer recently ran on Wayne Jacobsen's Lifestream blog:
We are in an age of religious complexity. The simplicity which is in Christ is rarely found amoung us. In its stead are programs, methods, organizations, and a world of nervous activities which occupy time and attention but can never satisfy the longing of the heart.

Did you see Heroes on Monday? I had really expected to see something on your blog about Peter and his "deal with God."

I thought about writing about it myself, but you are so much better at that than I.

So we can make requests now! That would be great, your snapshots are the best. Now onto this post...what a quote, it makes me feel sad about the state this age is in.

me, too, karen. i'm still mulling over how we respond to this, and keep coming back to the basics: live in relationship to the Father and intentionally walk with and love those with whom I cross paths. love God, love others. i still struggle with how it seems like such a drop in the bucket when it comes to changing our current church culture, but it's all i can think to do right now.
