Double-take

In case you can't read that sign, gas in this area of the D.C. Metro has fallen to $1.84 (and lower) per gallon. It might just be my stay-at-home-mom-fried brain, but I can't remember the last time I paid that.

No kidding. I just paid 87.9 cents per litre on the way home today. Only a couple months ago I was routinely paying over $1.50 per litre. It was very, very nice to look at my receipt and see that the number of litres was bigger than the number of dollars I paid, again, for once.

And yet it really wasn't that long ago. Gas was 99c a gallon just 10 years ago, though to be honest, I never expected to see it get below $3 again.... weird, but I'll take it!

It *is* weird. Kinda surreal.
