An apron from Amani

This weekend, I dropped in on an open house Amani event, in which a woman volunteers her home for a couple of hours to showcase some products made by women in Africa. Amani is a nonprofit organization that helps women form and develop groups within which they can make and sell their crafts to provide income for themselves and their families. Many of the women come to walk with Jesus and their changed lives are changing their families and communities. I walked out of the low-key event with an apron (above) and a pair of nifty earrings—and another fair trade organization this blog will support. If this kind of organization is interesting to you, visit their website: www.amaniafrica.org. Blessings.
