Friday Five: Tourist Edition

Courtesy of ReverendMother at RevGalBlog: "I am downtown on retreat this week. Most of the retreatants are from out of town, so I get to experience this place through the eyes of visitors. So in the spirit of tourism:"
1. What is one place you make sure to take out-of-town guests when they visit? We drive them by Dexter Avenue Baptist Church (an important church during the American Civil Rights Movement) and take them to the Rosa Parks Museum if we have the time. You just can’t visit this town without seeing those places—extremely crucial parts of our history.

2. When visiting another city or town, do you try to cram as much in as possible, or take it slow and easy? Slow and easy.

3. When traveling, where are we most likely to find you: strolling through a museum, checking out the local shopping, or _? On the beach, heh.

4. Do you like organized tours and/or carefully planned itineraries, or would you rather strike out and just see what happens? We do a little of both. I usually research (heh, my passion) where we are going to find the sites we really want to see. But mostly, we sleep in (if we are without the kids), relax on a beach (our destination of choice either way) and stop when we see something interesting.

5. After an extended trip, what do you find yourself craving most about home? My bed. And routine.
